Clearly, the very best way to avoid a DUI or DWI arrest this holiday season is to not drink and drive. Realistically, however, we know that once Halloween comes and the holiday season begins, almost endless opportunities abound for celebration and drinking --- which makes any plan of not drinking much more difficult to accomplish.
A few tips and reminders may be in order to help avoid your DUI or DWI arrest:
1. If you choose to drink, get a designated driver ( a sober friend, for example).
2. Or, get a taxicab, or Uber, etc., to transport you after the event.
3. Plan to stay at the host's (hostess') home overnight, or a friend nearby, or a hotel nearby, etc.
4. Stay home, party and drink.
5. If you are one of those persons determined to drink and drive, at least try to stay under the 0.08 % BAC level by doing the following :
- Eating food while you are drinking;
- Drinking lots of water; and
- Pacing your drinking.
Goodluck !
