Howard County Police Department Sued In Federal Court By Member Officer Charging Discrimination
An African-American female Howard County police officer has filed a racial discrimination lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland (on December 6th, 2012) against the department and her supervisor, seeking $400,000 in damages.
The civil suit states that Pfc. Lisa Burgess, who is black, was given poor performance evaluations, being in October 2010, because of her race. She continues on active duty with the department.
