Breath analysis is the most commonly-used method of testing for blood-alcohol. For a number of scientific and practical reasons, it is unreliable as well. While just about universally considered not as accurate or reliable as blood tests, it still has generally been regarded in law enforcement circles as acceptable if administered correctly. The biggest problem is that all too often DUI breath tests are not administered correctly by police.
