Car and truck accidents frequently result in one or more of the following unfortunate levels of injury:
(1) SERIOUS BODILY INJURY:
Individuals involved in car and truck accidents often are subjected to this level of injury. It is a degree of injury that leaves the victim with long-term physical and/or psychological damage. This can mean that the victim may have to live with this physical and/or psychological, or other medical conditions, for an extended period of time; thus, requiring extended or larger payment in damages for their care.
(2) TRAUMATIC BODILY INJURY:
Traumatic car and truck accident injuries are a degree of injury that leaves the victim with shorter-term injuries that are repairable and usually heal over time. While the pain and suffering may still be substantial, traumatic injuries are typically not expected to last for long-term periods of time, or to diminish the quality of life for the victim past the normal or so-called "standard" healing period for the specific injuries sustained from the accident.
(3) CATASTROPHIC BODILY INJURY :
When individuals are involved in a car or truck accident, they may be subjected to injuries that are considered catastrophic. Catastrophic injuries are the highest level or degree of injury. They are types of injuries that leave the victim with permanent physical and/or psychological damage.
(4) BRAIN INJURY:
There are currently at least 5.3 million Americans who live with permanent disabilities resulting from a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). This frightful and unfortunate number does not include untimely deaths as a result of a brain injury. Many of these brain injuries are caused by careless conduct, or negligence of those behind the wheel of a car or truck, or other type of vehicle.
(5) NECK, BACK, AND/OR SPINAL CORD INJURY: Injured car and truck accident victims are frequently subjected to injuries that involve , neck, back, and spinal cord injuries. This pain can be long lasting.
(6) LOSS OF LIMB INJURY: Though not as frequent as other motor vehicle injuries, loss of one's limb(s) can be truly stressful, traumatic and catastrophic; and it is clearly a permanent injury (for all purposes, including damages).
(7) PARALYSIS INJURY occurs all too often in car and truck accidents.
It can be serious, traumatic or catastrophic.
(8) DISABILITY INJURY can be serious, traumatic or catastrophic.
